About this Costume
Construction Details:
gold is decorator fabric, black is velvet. The bodice is boned and lined. I altered the sleeve pattern to make it alternate to match the wax figure in Madaam Tousad's (spelling?). I cut strips of the gold fabric and attached them in between the skirt and the bodice. There was SO MUCH FABRIC on the skirt that combining it and the bodice took quite a while to do (considering trying to make sure things didn't get pulled into the seam).
Personal Thoughts:
I quite enjoyed being big and poofy. And I have new respect for all the girls of the time that had to wear a boned dress on top of a corset. After a few hours, my tomboy self just wanted back into sweats.
