I am ridiculously proud of this costume because it had a lot of firsts for me, but it still turned out SO well. Plus it's really comfy to wear. 8D
The hat is a black slouch beanie purchased from a seller on Amazon.com. The hat pin was sculpted out of Model Magic, then painted with acrylic paint. The design was based on the lovely vector made by Coscom's Pollux (http://www.cosplay.com/showpost.php?p=2486657&postcount=13). I was having a terrible time trying to find a long-sleeve, crew-neck t-shirt of the appropriate color for Rhyme, so when I found a bunch of melon/peach/salmon/whatever-the-hell-color, short-sleeve t-shirts at Michael’s, I bought two: one to be the shirt, the other to make long sleeves out of. I’m actually glad that I did that because I was able to make the sleeves as wide as I wanted. After that was done, I used DeviantArt’s taeliac’s Fakie Screen Printing Tutorial (http://taeliac.deviantart.com/art/Fakie-Screen-Printing-Tutorial-55149185) to “screen print” the skull design onto the shirt, once again using Pollux’s vectors (http://www.cosplay.com/showpost.php?p=2486238&postcount=11). For the necklace, I found a bunch of small bells on clearance at Michael’s, so I covered one with Model Magic and sculpted the little crown on top, painted it with bronze acrylic paint, and put it on some leather cord. The shortalls are a pair of white painter’s overalls hemmed to be shorts. I also removed the claspy things on the shoulder straps, since Rhyme’s aren’t visible in any of the official art I found, and sewed on a little grey placket. The sneakers are black Ked's with golden-yellow fleece sewn onto them. Making these things was absolute murder on my hands. They were definitely the hardest part of this costume. My player pin was purchased from Xexus on Etsy.
