About this Costume
Construction Details:
The wig I bought from Gorgeous-Tea5 on ebay and it was already curled. I went in and seperated the top layer and then did some massive teasing to get more volume for Bubbles. I added on 6 odd shaped pearls in the hair, and I had to re style the bangs. I didn't use a pattern so I was literally on the floor pinning fabric to the shape of my lower body so I got a smooth look to the body, I didn't want any loose wrinkles or fabric hanging anywhere. The top and bottom is a 4 way stretch turquoise spandex lined with a 4 way stretch white lining. I used a iridescent blue lame for the end of the tail which I over layed the fabric on the fins over the spandex and then added in quilters batting and then free styled some swirls on the tail. I hand stitched the tail to the bottom. The white pieces are thick interfacing covered in the lame that I decorated with crystal trim. I lined the top with crystal trim also. I used a feather boa for my neck and arms and I used a half of a clear plastic ornament and colored the inside blue. I added a zipper to the back of the bottoms so I could walk in the outfit. It was a last minute detail and it bunched in places :/ oh well. I originally pained my skin blue but I ended up looking like i belonged in Avatar because of how intense the color looked on me. So I showered and went without. In the swirls of my tail I added green, blue, black and irredescent beads. I used both the serger and the sewing machine to get this done.
Personal Thoughts:
Next time, have someone come over to pin your body.
