About this Costume
Construction Details:
I got the suit done in time for a photoshoot here in Orlando. The blue's not as accurate as I'd like it to be, but I went through hell trying to find the right fabric. Eventually I happened upon a nice enough fabric from JoAnns that I was willing to work with. I made pretty much everything - the button up, a vest underneath (from gorgeous wool suiting), the jacket, shorts, eyepatch, and pimp stick (cane). The socks and rings were bought. The wig was bought from Ebay, but I styled it after I got it. The shoes were also bought from a seller online who custom made the shoes - had a horrible experience with that. The picture was completely different from the shoes I got, and unfortunately, the shoes I got were not accurate and very feminine. Since I was short on time I didn't have time to get new ones, so I painted the bottoms a wood-color and dealt with it. The eskimo cloak was kind of a spur of the moment addition for a winter themed photoshoot I took part in. When I saw this cloak in the anime I fell in love. There's something so damn hilarious about it to me, and I don't know why. It only took a couple hours and is made of about 4 yards of fabric and 7 yards of white fur trim. I bought a dog collar to work as his collar. It's not entirely accurate, but it's really hard to find an accurate one, and I'm not too worried about it being that accurate anyway. And I'm not concerned about what he wears under it in the anime (I think it's only slightly different from what I'll actually be wearing under it), I just wanted the cloak.
