About this Costume
Construction Details:
The costume was based off of a watercolor painting that was bright, bright, BRIGHT. So a good portion of the materials were chosen simply because that was all I could find in that color! In addition to that, I wanted to play with textures of different fabrics. So for example, the red dots on the purple upper sleeve are actually velvet. This was pretty much drafts by hand as well since none of the shapes were that hard.

The make-up is a company called Grimmas that I had heard about at CostumeCon the year previous and really wanted to try it out. They don't sell to the US though, so I found a costume shop in England that would ship it to me. It's anti-rub, so I could touch things without risking getting white make-up EVERYWHERE.
Personal Thoughts:
My secret shame: I haven't actually played FFVI all the way through, but I love the game. When Beverly wanted to put a group together for AnimeExpo, I claimed Kefka as quickly as possible; I mean, he's the only bad guy in Final Fantasy that actually WINS half-way through the game.

Regardless, this is one of the most fun costumes to walk around in because people just seem to love Kefka. Still, it's a costume that requires some serious planning ahead of time because I have to have blond hair (I personally don't like the looks of bangless wigs in this style) not to mention the costume itself takes about an hour to put on with all the make-up. Still, it's totally worth it.
