Can I join the Fancy Hetalia group now? So, Greece's traditional outfit is a Badass Foustanella (skirt). Athenian Presidential Guards sport it! I am really inspired by all the cosplayers who go the extra mile with research on historical/traditional outfits and really wanted to join the club. It is fun learning about folkwear, because I rarely came across the subject in school. Also, what cosplayer isn't into thematic symbolism in fashion? The skirt should have 400 pleats (one for each year of Ottoman rule) so I made a pleater board just for this project. I consider mine a WIP because I ran out of fabric at 116. I'll get to 400 soon! The sleeves completely dominate me. Also, since there wasn't any clear shot of the back in Himaruya's art, I wanted my vest to have "wings" (the extra panels that hang in the back, which were actually the sleeves a long time ago). I think my favorite part are the tassles which I made by hand, way cheaper and perfect lengths!
