Construction Details:

My mother pretty much guided me throughout the making of this. We followed a simple costume kimono pattern, modifying it to have the purple underlayer. The orange and purple shawl was drafted up from scratch, as were the gloves.

Personal Thoughts:

My first costume ever, and I never wore it to a convention. XD The wig used to be way longer, with the Suzuka bangs and ponytail, but I knew nothing about wigs back then, so it got tangled to the point of no return and had to be cut. All the pictures with the shortened wig are from 2007.

Styling Notes

I think I ended up using a banana clip to keep the "ponytail" up in the back. It wasn't a very good quality wig, though, so I ended up cutting it. :/

Wig Review

Oh man. XD So I got this wig on a family trip to New Orleans from some wig shop we happened to come across down in the French Quarter. I didn't know a thing about wigs back then, so I thought it would be SO EASY to just put it up into a high ponytail and be done with it ... uh-huh, wrong. XDDD
