Construction Details:

This wasn't the hardest costume ever and it didn't turn out as well as I wanted so I will be redoing it. The shoes were bought and the wig was one of my Cyperous wigs that a friend cut for me, it's pretty dead so I'm getting a new one. The shirt was bought from American Apparel and I made it shorter. It's not very flattering for my body due to the shape of it so I plan to use my previous shirt as a pattern and remake it to fit my curves. The pants were made seriously last minute the day before con. They are really ugly and not what I wanted at all so I am scrapping them to make something better. The gun and ear phones I am pleased with. The ear phones for both Quote and Curly were the bases of some cheap headphones we bought at Fred Myers. We ripped off the headband and attached dowels to them with hot glue and then formed around the base and the tip with apoxie sculpt. They were then sanded and painted. They still need a little work done one them. Curly's gun was an old long shot nerf gun that we had laying around. I took it apart, sanded and painted it. I was pretty happy with how that turned out even though everything else pretty much sucked. I'm hoping to make this costume loads better by next years Akicon!

Personal Thoughts:

I love Cave Story as does my boyfriend. I'm sad that my costume didn't turn out well though. We'll make it better for 2011 for sure.
