About this Costume
Construction Details:
Ah, I love Scott Pilgrim. I had never even thought about cosplaying from it until someone said that my boyfriend looked like Scott about a year ago. So we tried planning this out for about a year. Ramona was a fairly simple costume, a lot of parts were bought and had nothing done to them like the goggles, roller blades, and sweatband. The wig was bought from Epic Cosplay and was cut by a friend of mine. I plan to flip out some pieces in the back and try to reduce the shine of the wig before the next con I wear it to. The shirt was hand made by me, I used some tshirt material. Sadly I cut it too short and it makes me look frumpy. I'm planning on remaking the shirt and dying some fabric to match the color better to the front of the book, as well as actually make the patches on the elbows and raglan sleeves. The shorts were made out of some meshy sports material, I went off the colors on the front of the cover for them. The bag was all handmade by me. Made out of duck canvas, this was the hardest part of the costume. The interfacing I lined the bag with was thinner then I thought and so it kept collapsing on it's self. I had to stuff it full of plastic bags to keep it's shape! I'm making a new one right now, and in the correct colors (green and red). The bat was a cheap one I got from Fred Myers. I sanded all the paint off of it and spray painted it metallic. The word was drawn with sharpie and painted over with acrylic and then sealed. The grip tape is for a tennis racket.
Personal Thoughts:
I loved this costume and I love Ramona, I'll be wearing this and a lot of her other outfits I have planned for a long time.
