Construction Details:

So far... we have part of the overdress, the underskirt and hoopskirt. The underskirt is made from yellow Casa satin, and has fully finished seams! I accidentally cut the pieces too short, so I used what little fabric I had left to add a ruffle along the bottom. The ruffles are hand gathered and have a rolled hem.
The overdress is an experiment in "how much can I alter a pattern before it decides to strike back." The sleeves are held up by some "arm garters" that I put together. More Casa satin in "blue radiance" and white, with more hand-gathered, rolled hem ruffles and somewhat finished seams. There are pearl buttons going down the front.

Styling Notes

First, I hate this wig. It needs to be melted down and used for scrap plastic. I slagged the ponytails into the wig and then wrapped them around a couple of giant plastic tubes. After spraying them down with an entire can of Got-2B and letting them dry, I hand-stitched the loops together with clear thread. In retrospect, I wish I had used something to support the ponytails at their bases. They were crushed at the tops, and I couldn't get them back to the right shape. FML.
