I'm so proud of Souji! this is my first-ever crossplay, and he came out so nice! I consider this version to be "Version 1" of uniform Souji, because I will be making another Hanten in the future, only I'll be hand-dying the fabric. With the exception of the sword and Saizo, all articles are made by me. I used no pre-bought patterns, simply created my own and sewed them together. I was super-lucky to find a white pin-stripe course fabric for the hakama, and took extra care to cut and stitch them with the lines going the right way. There is an undershirt beneath the hanten coat, and the hanten is made out of this wonderfully soft, light-blue fabric. The sleeves are larger than the ones on the under-shirt, with the triangles and "Makoto" kanji painted on by hand. The lining is satin, with the cords of the puff-ball actually sewn in. Then, to make the puff-ball, I looped the end a few times, wrapped some additional cord around the looped ends, and once it was secure, took a pair of scissors to the upturned ends. A little fluffing and unwinding, and viola! Perfect puff ball! Th also styled the wig myself, as well. I bought a shoulder-length black wig, with a matching, 48" extension. After styling the shorter wig to match as I needed, I then glues a piece of fabric to the wig-cap's interior, and reciprocated by gluing a secured end of the extension atop that from the outside. After this, I took some time to add the the bond by sewing it down, and then concluded by wrapping some white cord to the base of the ponytail, no only for the costume, but accuracy, as well. Came out pretty good, eh?
