Construction Details:

To make this dress I had to take a basic pattern and modify it drastically so that once sewn together the design made a yellow X across the dress. I sewed together a mock up, drew the X pattern on it, and then cut that back apart to figure out what my final pattern would look like. I was originally going to make the costume out of pleather, but that really wasn’t working out to be too flattering, so while I was perusing JoAnn’s looking for other ideas I noticed navy and yellow suede in the remnant section. I love suede, so that sealed the deal for me. I found a really cute, tiny Star of David necklace online, which helped identify my character and then all that was left was the X-Men belt buckle, which was made out of craft foam.
