Construction Details:

Well, well this costume was a simple yet complicated at the same time. I used a simplicity kimono pattern that I had for about a year and shorten it. The fabric is made out of black twill and the red and yellow flames are country classic and quilters' cotton, respectively. They were heat bonded aka appliquéd onto the black fabric sleeve and bottom of the kimono and then satin stitched together. The bow was made from a tutorial from deviantart and the sakura pedals were heat bonded to the bow. The leg bandages are muslin strips sewn on to white pants that I cut up. And I used my friend's hand for the hand prints that were made from acrylic paint. And the giant bead necklace is made out of plastic ball pit balls and spray painted.

Personal Thoughts:

I messed up so many times making this costume I was hurrying at the last minute. And I went through two sewing machines to get the satin stitch, my old machine couldn't handle it.
