About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I managed to find the perfect dark green fabric at a fabric warehouse for $1/yd, tho I ended up getting 10 yards for $6 thanks to an awesome sale.
Like my Plastic Man and Music Meister costumes, this too has outlines wherever needed to recreate the BATB style. You can BARELY see the black outlines on the green, but hey, I'm dedicated. I also painted the mint highlights on the bodice and leggings.
The butt-cape was a lot easier to make than I thought. It's filled with batting and has a cinchbelt looped through belt loops I added to the cape and worn under my bodice. - Personal Thoughts:
- I've wanted to cosplay Ives for YEARS but never settled on a design, really. I had made the dress from The Batman, but considering I'm not a twig, that design doesn't suit me. I made the jacket from Batman: Arkham Asylum's concept art, but I don't wanna walk around in leafy panties (and yet I'm exposing more flesh in my Plas costume- go figure!)
So I'm glad that BATB's Ivy was a sharp and well-covered design! So very showgirl. I based this costume on her appearance in "Chill of the Night", not the teaser for "The Mask of Matches Malone!", even if she does look a billion times better in the latter. The only differences between the two are the gloves and the bodice leaf-trim.

Selphie Fairy is in the photos with me as BATB's Harley Quinn, for those wondering! <3 They made her a Betty Boop-esque character, which was so cute!
