Construction Details:

This is by far the best job I've ever done on construction to date IMO. I usually don't have the patience to make every stitch perfect, and I always make mistakes on lining things up. Not this costume! For once I took my time on every seam and I think it paid off. I'm not saying that this costume is perfect (the cut on the jacket could have been better so as not to emphasize my rather girly hips :P) but I'm proud of how patient I was on this fairly complicated costume.

I'm less proud of the sword. I had so many problems putting the thing together that I sacrificed a finished look just to be able to take it on stage. I definitely want to make a new sword - one that drops the electronic gimmick for looking accurate and cleanly made.

Personal Thoughts:

I promised myself I wasn't going to make anything new for Fanime 2010, and that I wasn't going to compete in the Masquerade. Those promises flew out the window when I finally finished watching this show in late March 2010. I HAD to cosplay D'Eon and perform the possession on stage. HAD to! I have this rather strange compulsion to cosplay blonde, blue-eyed androgynous French people XD.
