Construction Details:

This is probably the hardest costume I've ever done so far. Not only were the materials expensive, I also had to do lots of pattern drafting, sewing, and other things that were very new to me. I think I became a much more experienced cosplayer after I went through this. The pants was probably the easiest thing to make on this costume as I've already done it before. The outer top, inner cropped top, and hat were all made using altered patterns. Everything else was made using patterns I made myself. For the intricate gold designs, I enlisted the help of my uncle, who's an amazing artist, to draw them for me. This was also my first time making swords, and they turned out pretty good for a first try. Main materials used were silk, suede, craft foam, lamé, fake leather, satin, styrene, and air-dry clay. This was a headache to work with, but it was all worth it. I had the opportunity to work with some wonderful photographers, and I won my first cosplay award! I want to wear this costume again, but I have to fix some things first.
