About this Costume
Construction Details:
One of the most comfortable costumes ever! The dress is just plain stretchy black knit, it's really just insanely comfy. And the shoes are an old pair I've had for years, so they're all nice and broken in~. My favorite aspects of the costume have to be the wig and Ragnarok, though. The wig was an interesting journey. I couldn't find a color I liked, so eventually I settled on a light pink bobbed wig from eBay. I was expecting it to be thin and made of fail fiber, but it turned out to be one of the nicest wigs I've ever purchased! It was thick and the fiber was a dream to work with - it didn't tangle in the slightest! As for the color, I wanted to give it a purple tint, and so I tried the Pearlescent FW Ink (as opposed to the regular kind). It worked perfectly. And now the wig is not only the perfect cross between pink and purple, but it has sparkles in it, too (which make it photograph beautifully). It spiked really easily, too; I don't think I've ever been so successful spiking a wig! And Ragnarok. Ohhh, my precious Ragnarok. I finished him about a week before the con, and he was the first prop I made on my own without a bit of help from anyone else. Which is the reason why he's made of insulation foam as opposed to wood because I'm terrified of power tools. The details such as the mouth and spikes were made from Model Magic, and the steel strap is craft foam. Lots of acrylic paint and hot glue was used, too.
