Where to start? Let's just say, Jill's battle suit was a bitch to work on....I wish Ada Wong had one of these. Bodysuits + Resident Evil = Pure WIN This is made completely out of a bunch a different materials such as leather, stretch vinyl, marine vinyl, pleather and rib-knit stretch fabric. The most difficult part of this costume was finding the correct fabric. I went on many fabric crusades trying to find a purple/blue/lilac fabric that was close to that one reference image that pops up everywhere. Until I finally decided to just go with dark blue, and what better fabric to make a bodysuit than some goatskin leather. I was trying to achieve a realistic look to the bodysuit and thought that leather and matte fabrics was the best way to go. Ordering the stuff, although was not fun. I learned a great deal about leather hides and how they don't come in rolls. Unfortunatly, the leather supplier I ordered from only had 1 large hide of what I used and after running out of it, I could not find the correct shade of blue anywhere. ANYWHERE. So after going through a million leather swatches, I found a blue upholstery vinyl in a local fabric store and used that. Although it KILLED me to add the two different blue shades to the suit when it clearly only has one. But it works. Overall, this costume was not THAT difficult to make and it was my first time working with real leather. Which has fantastic results I might add. Sad to say, it's not 100 percent to my liking as I would have liked it be, mainly because I was so backed up for Otakon that I had to forgo a few things. The detailing on the back needs to be revamped, which will be done eventually. As for the gloves and boots, I ran out of leather hide and only had upholstery vinyl left. And what was I gonna do? Make gloves out of upholstery fabric? .....no. I need more pictures of this costume and I look terrible in a blonde wig. Need to get a better one.
