About this Costume
Construction Details:
All of the leaves were plucked off of fake flowers from Michaels. The edge of each leave was painted copper to give it a gilded look. The leaves were glued to a bra and bikini bottom as well as a loin cloth that I made. The vines were made out of spray foam that was sprayed on top of copper wire. They were carved into shape and then paper mached for strength and texture. I painted them green and then proceeded to glue moss all over them for an "organic" look. I wrapped a rope I dyed green around them to look like a small vine, and glued on some leaves. The hair was made much the same way as the vines, but once I carved the shape and papermached them I wrapped them in hair extensions. A vine and leaves were added to complete the look. The hair pieces are worn on a headband and the wig (which I custom dyed) goes on over top. The ears were purchased from Yaya Han and were painted green to match my body which was painted using Reel Creations green body paint. The leg warmers were created with wonderflex and modelmagic. Crumpled foil was pressed into the model magic to give it a bark like texture. Fabric was glued to the sides of the bark and was covered in more gilded leaves.
Personal Thoughts:
This costume was extremely difficult to make and wear, but I love Poison Ivy and couldn't pass up the opportunity to make this crazy costume.
