Construction Details:

This costume was a giant learning experience for me, but I love Rydia's character and her design, so it was well worth it. Although I'm dying to do an Amano design, I decided because of my limited experience that it would be best to do something with a more concrete design, rather than something so intuitive. A lot of this costume involved the use of dyes. I was very particular about what greens to use for Rydia and it was often difficult finding greens that weren't Leprechaun-esque. Parts that are dyed: Body suit, skirt, and sleeves. Although you cannot see it well in photos, I did do some beading on this costume. There is beading on the front flap and on the little star motifs on her bodysuit and skirt. This costume has just been an ongoing task! During past conventions, I wore feathers, which weren't accurate to the artwork I was referencing. I eventually leveled up and casted the headpiece out of resin :D
