Construction Details:

The wig was my sister's old Orihime wig. It was originally from the ebay seller cosplaywigs. My friend, Amanda, helped me style the wig since I had never created handmade wefts before. We used the long extra hair for the wefts and pulled the wig in a side ponytail. The back was cut shorter because we were unsure if we could get it in the pony well, without more wefts than we had. However, I do believe it would had been possible to bring it up. If I ever redo the wig, I will buy a wig made for pigtails. There are some ugly bands I was unable to hide with how I styled it...

The yellow top is made of cotton. It was made using Simplicity's 8523 pattern. The pattern was just shortened because Misty shows off her belly. I also bought red suspenders from Hot Topic and created the little triangles on them from foam. I painted them gold and superglued them onto the clips of the suspenders. However, due to the size of the triangles I made, the suspender clips barely open. I bought some shorts were Sears, however, I could not find plain shorts like those from the 90's! They all had strips on them! The ones I finally bought were folded up a little and tacked down.

The shoes were originally plain red Converse that I altered. I painted the heel and tongue white with about 20 layers of fabric paint! Surprisely, my sister's Ash shoes were easier to cover despite being black. After the painting was over I cut out the "thunderbolt" like designs in felt and hand-sewed them onto the shoes.

I haven't finished making Misty's bag yet but I have a pattern for it. Lastly, Togepi is an old toy I borrowed from my sister.

Personal Thoughts:

My friends were planning to make a Pokemon group and I wanted to join. Basically all the characters were taken, even James, who I had made in the past. I was told the girl who was going to be Misty was "ify" about making it so I decided to make my own Misty costume. The outfit looked easy and I had wanted to dress as Misty for Halloween when I was a child and never was able. Plus Misty had always been my favorite female character in Pokemon! It's fun being Pokemon characters!

Styling Notes

My friend helped me style this. It was a long wig I got from Cosplay-wig. We cut it, brought it into a ponytail, and added wefts. I think I may redo this wig in the future. There is a bald spot I hate...
