About this Prop
Construction Details:
Base made by Joe Stasio, embellished by myself with help from my dad. I removed everything from the original prop, while my dad cut off the excess pieces to make it more even. I then hand sanded it smooth, and drafted out new wing blades with craft foam to place over the wooden extremities on the prop itself. I took giant pieces of white craft foam and cut strips into feather-ended pieces for texture (then sprayed with silver...I like shiny things!). The center is yellow craft foam, painted a darker shade and sprayed with gold spray paint. The gems were also painted over and glued on with E-6000 glue. I covered the back with black felt, and the weapon is supported with a leather belt that was stapled and glued on, so I could attach it to my arm.
Personal Thoughts:
For my first time making a real prop - even from a base of someone else's work, I am really proud of it! Especially since it was done only a week before the convention, haha.
