About this Costume

Amy's Victory of the Daleks outfit was a pretty easy to find with some hunting. I already had the ribbed red shirt and navy tank top in my closet. The grey wash corduroy mini skirt I found online by searching American Eagle corduroy skirts, while the belt I picked up at Target. The boots were the closest to Amy's style I could find searching through cowgirl style boots on eBay, and I also found a gold "A" charm on the auction site which I threaded through an extra necklace chain I had. I picked up a brown leather bomber jacket at a thrift store; it's a little bulkier than I'd have liked and it's easy to get overheated in it, but I do like the overall look it gives. The wig I bought for the style and color, though it was originally much too long. Once of my roommates ended up cutting it for me at ConnectiCon the first time I wore it while I had it on, and they did a fantastic job! Overall it's an easy and comfortable outfit, and I'm pretty happy with it.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Doctor Who fans love to gush about David Tennant, but I'm a much bigger fan of Matt Smith's Eleventh incarnation of the Doctor and I love his cute, feisty, and unapologeticly awkward companion, Amy Pond. In some ways she reminds me of myself, even down to her penchant for short skirts, though saying anything else would be a spoiler.
