About this Costume
Construction Details:
The swimsuit was made out of lycra and I patterned it after a real sukumizu, since I have one, with the exception of the front flap. I had no idea what was going on with that piece... The sailor collar was made the same way as my Bridget (GG) collar and zips in the back. My awesome friend WindoftheStars made me the gem. The ruffles on the bottom were hand-stitched while I was wearing the costume. That was fun to do... I'm not happy with the bow. I used a starch to make it stay up but the starch didn't work and I didn't have time to make a new one with interfacing. The visor was bought at Micheal's for a dollar. I then cut it and covered it. I sewed on hair extension clips so it stays on my head. The wig was from Epic Cosplay and was super long. I used the extra hair and made wefts for the ponytails. The lollipop is styrofoam, a wooden dowel, Model Magic, cotton, and a large button.
Personal Thoughts:
Moetan may be one of the dumbest but cutest things I've ever seen. I always thought Pastel Ink's outfit was cute and would do it eventually. But when my friends expressed interest in cosplaying it, I jumped on it like no one's business. lol I've never been a fan of skimpy outfits but the bow covers most of the back and all that's left are legs... a lot of legs. Oh well.
