About this Costume
Construction Details:
The base is a silvery/gray zentai suit. The neck portion was altered to be a high top turtle neck. The foot/ankle bands, thigh and arm bands were made from black spandex. Those things gave me a hard time for some reason, they are the easiest pieces to make!!! ARGH. Anyway the arm and leg bands are adjustable and easily removable. The anklets were hand sewn to the dark gray leg pieces. I had to make a pattern for the leg pieces so it was as tight as I could make them because I could not for the life of me find dark gray spandex! So stretchy fabric had to do. The same thing happened with the arm pieces. The arms are a bit messed up and I really want to fix them. They are also hand sewn onto the suit. The underwear like thing was kind of random and I had to guess how to construct it. It was my first time making a thong! Yes a thong. Kind of fun in some way. That piece can slide on and off with ease. The corset is a corset nothing special about it. The wig was only slightly trimmed and styled. Basically the tips of the front were made to not get in my eyes and were pieced out. The barcodes are hand painted...each and every one specific to the character...so no random numbers! I still need to add wires to this cosplay but that can be done at a later date.
Personal Thoughts:
One of the more ambitious cosplays I've attempted. There were lots of new things I learned from making this. In the near future I'll have the full armor and head piece done. Woot!
