About this Costume
Construction Details:
I really love the Utena series, especially the movie when I first saw it in middle school. So this is actually one of my dream cosplays. lol This was actually my first time lining something out of the same material, which was a cotton suiting polyester blend I found at Jo Anns for the black and white on fashionfabrics club. The pattern was a Project Runway Simplicity pattern for a Jacket. The cuffs I made where a pattern I made myself from scrach and half of the cuffs were hand sewn. The red bias tape was based then sewed on except the one on the collar which was hand sewn as well as the triangles. The jewelry was made out of sculpty with an easter egg as the main jewel gluded on. Glued with epoxy glue on the back with floral wire. The sword is made out of wood for the most part except the designs were also made out of sculpty and reinforced with epoxy glue. Wig didn't take too long to make. All I did was tease the bangs and made the curls on the side. Shoes are oxford shoes painted in red shoe paint. Overall, I'm pleased with this. Probably will improve on it later when I got time.
