About this Costume
Construction Details:
This was a pretty last minute project for Supercon since my other two costumes weren't working out like I wanted. The fabric is cotton sateen that's been hand dyed. The skirt was a PAIN to make. I tried to get that impossible sideways pleat that she has going on in the front. The gloves were the worst part. As if gloves in one color aren't hard enough to make, hers are in TWO!!! I used a really nice micro suede for the green bits, and a stretchy cotton for the white. All of the armor bits are made from layering craft foam and then sealing it, spray painting it, and aging it. I made the fans from sheet metal. It was a pretty fun experiment in the end, since I've never made a fan before. This was also my first time working with make up of this kind.
