About this Costume
Construction Details:
Pretty much last minute cosplay. I think it was about two weeks before the con and me and Nissy were like "djfhdsfkjg Let's do Magnet Len and Neru together" 'cuz we were already on a Magnet kick, and then we saw the Magnet version for Len and Neru, so it was like yeah this is happening. XDDDDD

For the shirt, I took my shirt that I started making for Lysacek!America, and ripped off the sleeves, fixed the collar, and installed a zipper.

The headsets are so ghetto. Ok first we took the remaining headsets I had around the house from when I first made my regular Vocaloid headsets. They were white, so I painted them black with acrylic paint, and put black craft foam for the bottom part so no paint could possibly mess up our wigs. The bulb part of the headset is made out of poster board. It was sharpie, more sharpie, and prismacolor marker.

The wings were done on yellow craft foam, and we sharpied the black on the wings, so it's actually one layer unlike the two people usually do when making these headsets.

And this is where most of the ghettoness comes in. I couldn't finish the headsets in time before leaving for the con, so while waiting for Sonteen at NY Penn station, me and Nissy (with a bit of help from Asta) were assembling it together there. We punctured holes into the poster board to fit the wire in, and at first we were gonna have yellow beads, but lulz it wouldn't sit right, so we used some chains, and draped those instead. Everything was put together by hot glue. Look how ghetto we are. We're so awesome.

I didn't have time to make pants for Magnet either, but I had a pair of pants that I knew would work so I didn't stress about that too much. But when we were at the train station I realized I forgot to pack my pants for magnet, luckily Nissy had pants similar to what I had at home on her, so I was able to use those. I also left my gloves at home, but luckily for me I had a spare pair of black gloves in my bag (for Hetalia cosplay) which I cut up in the hotel room.

And I think that actually ends the construction bit of this cosplay. All that's really left to say is: YAYz! I finally got a shoot in a hotel. I've been wanting this for ever. Also a big thanks to Asta for taking the pictures for us Thursday evening.
