Construction Details:

Yay for a simple costume that is fun to wear! This costume was simple, completed in probably less than 20 hours total. I began with a McCalls child's pattern for the top and added the skirt portions, then made a mockup and adjusted till it fit just right. It ended up with a back seam with an invisible zipper and darts on either side to help the dress fit in the back. I sized down some sleeves from another pattern and added those in. Unfortunately the polka dot fabric I found, while very similar to the video, is very thin and translucent, so the entire dress is lined in white broadcloth as well. White bias tape finishes the neck and sleeves. The headband was covered in fabric and the bows made as faux bows with heavy interfacing.

Personal Thoughts:

This dress was super cute and I found the perfect fabric! So it was like a calling, "MAKE THIS DRESS!"
