About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I had the basic plain black zentai suit custom sized from an online shop. When I got it, I freehand sketched all of the design on with chalk, then I hand painted the design with scarlet red stretch fabric paint. (I had to have my friend Talitha wear the suit while I did this.) The shoes have boot/shoe covers that I drafted patterns for and sewed with the same stretch material used for my shoulder, thigh and neck pieces. The black details on the shoes were painted on with black fabric paint. Last but not least, the green engagement ring on my left hand was purchased from an online store. I made sure to get a silver band with a circular round emerald stone (to match it as close as possible to hers.)
- Personal Thoughts:
- The hardest part was getting the intricate red designs onto the bodysuit. I used a TON of reference images from the series to make sure I got it as close as possible. (lots of screecaps) Also, the wig that I used was a beast. A long curly pale blonde beast. Would I do this all over again? yes. It was an amazing learning experience!
Wig Details
- Wig Brand
- Cosplay-Wig
- Wig Name
- 36'' Curly Long
- Original Color:
- Pale Blond
- Styling Time
- lost track, but it took forever
- How was the wig colored?
- Blue Sharpies + rubbing alcohol
- Styling Notes
- The wig was purchased from cosplaywig on eBay, and the blue portions were added with blue sharpie dye and alcohol in a spray bottle. The wig was then "foofed" up a bit more to give it a little more Nia-esque volume.
