About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I started out with a very simple Kimono pattern. I realized that if I wanted the costume to successfully fall off my shoulders that I would have to make a couple changes. I ended up taking the pieces I cut with the pattern and modified them to make myself a new pattern.
I went with green trim and the triangles because I just liked the colors and shapes better together. That's the one thing about old school anime like Kenshin, it's amazing but it lacks continuity.
I cut-out and attached each triangle individually. I also lined the trim with interfacing to help it hold up off my shoulders and add body to it.
I lined the sleeves with the same purple fabric I used to make the under Kimono.
All-in-all, despite all the differences in continuity...I found one picture reference that I loved the design of and went with that...seems the relieve headaches that way.
- Personal Thoughts:
- Hollow Triangles are a terrible shape to put on a costume or even consider cutting out.
