About this Costume
Construction Details:
Everything was handmade (except for the shoes and gloves) down to the undergarments (drawers, chemise, petticoat/bustle, and corset). I also made the veil, bow, and earrings. I ended up having to do a lace overlay for the bow because I could not find the correct fabric. The pattern for the corset and bustle were graphed out of a Norah Waugh book. All other patterns were drafted or heavily modified. Makeup was done with liquid latex, Ben Nye creme foundation, powder, and shadowing creme. Over 200 hours of drafting, graphing, cutting, serging, sewing, plotting, fitting, trimming steel coils, and historical research went into this costume. It still needs a bit of work but I'm proud of it thus far.
