I made this costume for a photoshoot organized by Kumagoro (Shishio), OH-Productions: http://outerhaven.tk/, and River of Lakes Productions. We had a group of 15 Rurouni Kenshin costumes so it was fun even though we got rained on. Haha. I made the Iwanbo and Henya costumes in the pics too. I was lucky to already have the majority of the fabric and materials for Kamatari waiting for me in my closet. :D I made the kimono out of casa satin and lined it completely on the inside. The sleeves are hand sewn. I cut the squares out of fabric and used iron-on adhesive to attach them. I made the black obi out of black fabric and interfacing and the red "obijime" is a piece of a convention lanyard that I cut up. Lol. I sewed a black faux under kimono, the purple obiage, and yellow trim. I made the back bow by sewing white fabric tubes, stuffing them then wrapping them with wire and handsewing the pieces together. Hanamaru sewed red bias tape over some sandals that I already had and let me borrow her tabi socks. :) I built the wig out a long purple wig w/o bangs and it still needs some work. I made his scythe the day before the photoshoot out of a wooden stick, pvc pipe, metal chain, posterboard, foam, and a styrofoam ball I covered with Model Magic.
