Construction Details:

Flandre's dress was made in one day~ Very easy! Her wings are what took me so darn long! @__@ I spent so much money on those, haha. Originally, I wanted to use real glass, but those weighed down my branch wings, so I ended up using glass sheets. The emblem on the crystals are made out of sculpey. A lot of people at the convention asked me what the branches were made out of. My friend Bert, and my boyfriend really helped me with this. My boyfriend gave me all of the materials he no longer needed for his class, and Bert came over once to help me with finishing the connections. The wings are made of wire, duct tape, and molding to cover over that. I tried to go for a burnt tree branch look?? Haha, I don't know. x__x I also had a weight issue with the wings. Whenever I walked far distances, my wings would start drooping because of the weight. It wasn't terribly bad, but it was too noticeable for me. I also put LED's in the back of my wings to make them glow at night. I am getting closer and closer to getting contact lenses right! My fourth time wearing them! :D I made just about everything on my costume except for the weapon. My friend Court made the weapon! We did a commission exchange~ Also, if my mouth expression looks weird, it's because I'm wearing huge fangs. XD

Personal Thoughts:

I really owe my friends Cesar and Jason for getting me into this character/series. I never played the games, but I watched enough to be familiar with it. I really freak out at the projectiles, haha. I originally took on this costume because I wanted to attempt the wings, but I really actually fell in love with the character. I want to do Flandre's normal outfit some time! @__@
