This cosplay made me cry... MADE ME @$##%# CRY!!! It was sooo hard to make... and It was super heavy too!! 34 pounds on my back for 8 hours...
Ok.
The helmet was made using a dollar store plastic helmet and the rest was shaped with craft foam cut outs and then painted with TESTER Lacquer paint. The gold trim was actually paper from a gift bag from the dollar store.
The tail was a foam water noodle from the dollar store and I used a funnel from the dollar store and a piece of PVC pipe for support. I used silicon hot glue and glued it all together. After it was cold, I made dragon scales from craft foam and glued them in a dragon scale order and then painted them with TESTER lacquer spray paint.
The shoulders I used dollar store blue containers and a presentation black poster board I also got at the dollar store. I used different sizes of eastern eggs and painted them purple. I glued it all together and then I used their perspective TESTER Lacquer spray paint colors.
I cut hundreds and hundreds of scales for the arms, chest, legs, back shins, and tail.
I purchased a Junior XL chest Hockey protective armor and used it for the chest part of the dragon. I glued the scales and painted them.
I made the yellow and purple scales from craft foam, glued them and painted them.
The wings were attached to the back of the Hockey chest armor with PVC connector pipes I purchased at Home depot for $1.29 each.
All wing cutout patters were made by me in separate pieces of paper to test the size and then cut on the cart board after I was happy with the result.
I made and cut scales for the back and the yellow ring on the back rotates thanks to a battery disco ball motor that I bought of ebay.
I cut the wings out of presentation boards, and stuff the ends with cotton so they looked fluffy. Painted the wings with TESTER Lacquer spray paint.
I used black leather boots that I covered with painted dragon scales.
The gloves are black leather. Painted them blue and glued yellow cardboard claws.
