Construction Details:

For my second competition piece, since it was going to be at ACEN (which I hadn't been to before, but heard it was awesome), I wanted to do something really impressive. I heard my friend was planning a Date cosplay, and had to get on board with that. The coat took a long time, planning out the cuts for the different browns, sewing them together, then covering it in hand-made bias tape. The silver bits are naked cover buttons! XD The kanji on the collar are hand-stitched, and the moon and clouds on the back are appliqued on in my first attempt at applique with a machine. :> The armor is all vinyl - made of bty vinyl from the store and placemats from Walmart! XD My cousin helped me make my swords~ <3 My first weapon in over a year! Swords are based on Chioky's tutorials.

Personal Thoughts:

I LOVE THIS COAT. I would wear it all the time if I thought I could get away with it and not ruin it. The collar has the manriest interfacing evar. XD
