Construction Details:

My Kaito Magnet headphones, the first prop I ever made entirely myself. The headphones were based off of a Kaito/Miku Magnet fanart drawn by Sushi-rabu over at deviantArt.

The base headphone is a Sony headphone with the wire cut off. The wings are made from poster board and scrapbooking paper; flat back Swarovski crystal was added to give it some pop. The headband part was covered by white satin overlain by two layers of black lace; they were purposefully sewn into the scalloped pattern you see. The ear piece part was built up from foam board, more scrapbooking paper, and a rubber stamp and white ink. More crystal was added, along with the jewelry wire antenna. All of it was glued to the headphones.

The original microphone (the one you can see) was made from jewelry wire and Fimo. It was kind of heavy and kept turning downwards. I eventually found an old pair of headphones in my closet; I removed the microphone, painted it black, and glued it into place. The updated version - so to speak - can be seen with my completed Kaito Magnet cosplay.
