Construction Details:

Utau is one of the few female characters I absolutely adore. I am horrible as a blond but I wanted to cosplay her anyway. The first person to actual wear this cosplay was my friend Holley. I wanted to cosplay both Ikuto and Utau at AZ but the only had Saturday morning available; I couldn't cosplay both at the same time, and Holley is similar in size (and she's always wanted to cosplay) so it was an easy fix.

Utau's entire outfit is made of the same black suiting fabric as Ikuto's top. The skirt was a simple box pleat pattern skirt. I added lace to the cotton lining but that was pretty much it. The top was a modified blouse pattern; I changed the sleeves to give them more poofy and flare.

The corset was hand drafted. It has light boning in it but won't stand up to a real corset. This corset is the precursor to the blue lace corset I wore for Ciel; I refined the technique since then.

The shoes are Demonia brand shoes; they aren't an exact match but they fit with the cosplay pretty well. Standard thigh high stockings complete the outfit.

I didn't modify the wig much because I also use the short base wig for Howl. I did take off some of the length of the pigtails and used hairspray to create the slightly curled shorter ends. Eru's egg was, like Yoru's, part of a set and has a little Eru inside.
