Construction Details:

This costume was made the day before a convention so that a friend could be part of our D.N.Angel group. Of course, I couldn't resist grabbing it for a sunrise beach shoot while we were there. It wasn't quite all handmade-- the top is a ruffle (made from fabric I already had) sewn onto an existing, but hemmed tube top, and the skirt was cut from a 2X T-shirt because I couldn't find a wide blue/white stripe anywhere. The skirt was made from the HUGE roll of white muslin I keep on hand for mock-ups. The crown details were made from craft foam I already had on hand. The only things I bought for this were the wig from a local wig shop ($30 and I only had to razor in some bangs!) and the headband and ribbon to cover it. The boots were borrowed from my sister in law, but they're 2 sizes too small, could only be wedged on with pantyhose, and required me to curl my toes in a complete circle. The whole shoot was done in under 15 minutes because I couldn't stand to wear them any longer. I never appeared in this at the con for this reason. I've since worn it to two photoshoots where I had a LOT of fun in it!

Styling Notes

I styled this wig with a razor. I found it in a local shop, at the last minute, so I forgive it for being a touch short. Also, I used it for two different characters on the same weekend, so I styled it half way between the two. It still looks close enough to make me very happy :)
