Construction Details:

This was slightly a rush job- I made the whole costume in 12 hours, the day before I had to wear it. (Damn you midterms and studying!!) I literally sat down and did nothing else all day (and night) but made three seperate pieces, boot covers, edit a panda plushie, break glasses and made a ying yang.   

The top was probably the hardest/most time consuming part, including the sleeves. Putting the bias tape basically everywhere took the longest. Getting the shape of the sleeves, fitted on the upper arm, and bell-ish shaped on the bottom with the funky shape while trying to make it even, was the hardest.  I still wanna take it in just a little bit..    
The black undervest only took me 20 minutes. Each of the points on it have interfacing just to keep the shape and so it wouldn't curl up. I'm super glad that the points on the vest are visable!! :]
The skirt/not skirt, was just one small panel with bias tape, and one long 64" inch panel, with an easltic band. 
My Panda was an old plushie I had no use for anymore so I used him for my costume. I took the bean bags out of his tummy, cut two holes in his tummy for a clip and hand sewed his hands together to secure him on the clip. The leaves were glued and hand sewn on his head and back.
The glasses were bought, popped the lense out, cut the top of the frames off with a PVC pipe cutter and super glued the lenses back in.
My boot covers are covering wedges and I'm not happy with them.. Gunna figure out a way to make them stay up and defy gravitiy better.

The pole is a 2" diameter, 5'7" PVC pipe with just two plumbing tops. It was all spray painted, two days before I started sewing the costume itself.

I have a longer ponytail and the ying yang, but I decided to not wear them during the parade since it would become one hot tangled mess. :]
