Construction Details:

This was probably the easiest costume I've ever done. It also holds a special place in my heart because Misty was my very first cosplay back when I was 14 and It's amazing how much you can improve on a costume that, both times, was mostly bought. The shirt started as a yellow tank top, that I shortened and re-hemmed. The suspenders were bought as-is from the thrift store, and the shorts were a thrift store purchase as well. I dyed them in teal, to give them a color slightly closer to the animation. The wig started out as an Orihime wig that I bought second-hand off a friend. I then proceeded to chop, back-comb, and hair-spray it to high heavens. despite my best efforts, the ponytail just wouldn't stick straight out, and I couldn't cut it any shorter or I wouldn't be able to keep it all in the ponytail. The shoes started as a pair of cheap ugg knockoffs from Value Village. I cut them down to the proper height, and then proceeded to cover them in pieces of red and white vinyl, to re-create the cartoony style of the Pokemon shoes.
