About this Costume
Construction Details:
About the costume. Everything made from scratch. Patterns drafted by myself (as usual). Fabrics include: black twill, red broadcloth, white denim, red polyester, black taffeta lining, black vinyl, etc. Boot are altered: I made the flaps on the top and added the black strap across the base of the shoe. The wig started out as a long wig, so lots of cutting and styling went into it. (Still needs to be styled some more >.>) I also made the hammer, which I didn't originally think I'd have time for! So, I'm glad, since it completes the costume! Oh! And I have green contacts!

This costume was even better, as I had a few friends cosplaying DGM along with me ^__^

P.S. I forgot to mention, my friend Skei made the wonderful E-buttons for all of us (She casted them in resin!) They are awesome and I'm really happy and grateful. The cross badge I made using the craft foam template/tutorial (with a few alterations) It worked out nicely! :D
Personal Thoughts:
Lavi has always been my favorite character from DGM, and by the time the 3rd uniform designs were released, it seemed like it was finally time to cosplay him! (I REALLY liked these designs the best, and OMG RED. MY FAV. COLOR.)

Lavi is really different from the type of characters I usually like and cosplay. I usually enjoy the serious/brooding type, so Lavi is a bit of a change for me. (Not that he's happy-go-lucky all of the time. OMG Volume 13 O.O) So, it was fun to actually be able to smile and be happy in costume, hahah.

EDIT: Nearly four years after making this costume, I unburied it from the depths of my closet to wear to a photoshoot gathering my friends organized at the Smithville Mansion in NJ. I restyled the wig and got some great on-location shots. It was a lot of fun!
