About this Costume
Construction Details:
It took me a long time to decide which character from any Final Fantasy I wanted to cosplay with my group, but I'm glad I settled on Edea! The dress was patterned by my friend draping the fabric directly on my body. We put the side seams on the back of the dress to keep the sides smooth. The sleeve/glove are on piece, with a little slit on the underside of the wrist so I could get my hand out. The gradient on the hands/skirt was airbrushed with a metallic purple. I also added in a small petticoat to keep the skirt poofed out at the bottom (though I haven't got it in for all the pics and it made it SO hard to walk!) and bought some really pretty iridescent feathers for the collar. The headpiece is all Paper Clay. The base is just clay, but the shell and horns are built over tinfoil models. I chose to use patterned beads rather than solid like in the references. The backpiece I'd lke to work on more, but presently it's MDF board with paperclay over it to add dimension. It straps on like a backpack.
