Construction Details:

I wanted to make this costume versatile, so there are actually two versions of this cosplay. One has a green vest and red skirt. And the other a red vest and a green skirt. But the sneaky trick is the fact that the vest is double sided! I've never done that before, but it definitely saved me the hassle of not only making, but lining two separate vests. The skirts, unfortunately, are not double sided.

The most frustrating part of this cosplay was the trim around the neck. Not necessarily to put in, but to wear. IT WAS SOOOOO ICHY!! We had to stop at a fabric store to pick up some double sided tape and ribbon just to last the day. But who hasn't suffered for cosplay?

Personal Thoughts:

Hungary is adorable and she wields a frying pan. That makes her extremely endearing to me. And her pseudo relationship with Austria. It's so sweet. This cosplay is based loosely off of the "Children's Day" version of Hungary, but I wanted to stay true to the green, red and white colors of the flag of Hungary. And since she wears a more olive green dress in her traditional costume, I made it an olive green accent instead of the more severe green.

This was debuted at a super baby-con called ASAHi con in east bay area. It was a perfect opportunity to get some nice photoshoots done of this. And the fact that Ellome came to play with me as my Austria means so much to me!

I had another chance to play with this one in a solo shoot at my friend's Ranch in Marin County in 2011, but those will be updated shortly....as soon as I can find them....
