Construction Details:

I was asked to be in the skit by our Polka and, having never played the game, was hesitant at first... the design IS pretty heinous. But once I got going it grew on me. The bloomers are puffed out with a square dance petticoat worn underneath and all the designs across the costume are hand painted on. The shoes started out as size 6 rockinghorse boots which I cut up and glued/nailed size 9 ballet flats to, which I had painted the right color. I used craftfoam around the sole to make it look uniform and more accurate to the character. The wig was a punky xl in pink which I dyed with a combination of berry, pink, red, and orange sharpies before styling. The headband is sewn on and supported with wire and the pom poms are supported by a headband worn under the wig.
