Construction Details:

Hooray for boys clothing!....or at least that's what it seemed like. The shirt is an extra large boy's shirt. A second front pocket was added, but I didn't admit that one out loud, right? The tie - boys size as well. The skirt was a thrift store find. The feathers were originally real, which was really nice. But when it came to upkeep and re-use, it wasn't very practical. So I made them out of craft foam and wooden sticks for support, and they haven't bent at all.

The most fun about the whole thing was probably the hat she wears. I found a scrap of fabric that was the same color as the skirt, and it was used on both the shoulders of the shirt and the hat. That hat is origami folded, hot glued and literally pinned into place. I'm afraid to take them out. But it holds out really well, so I can't see any reason to replace it. The emblem on the front is a brass colored plastic button with a shield with wings. It was painted gold and sewn in place.

Personal Thoughts:

I love Maggey! She's so earnest and tries her very, very best! And I kinda think the little Gumshoe/Maggey side-pairing is adorable. This one was a last minute surprise for some friends of mine at a SacAnime when we were all working with the cosplay masquerades. They knew I was working on it, but not how quickly it was going to be done.

Buuuuut I'm not really sure when I've actually worn it. ^^; or at least what year. I knew it was worn at Sac-Con, maybe a Sac-Anime, and at a Fanime. This is what I get for updating stuff super late. I'm trying! DX
