About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The costume was built on top of a store-bought leotard. The skirt is made of two full circles of fabric to make it super full. The skirt and collar are both made of rodeo cotton, which I liked because it had a good weight to it and was little stiff. The bust armor is a separate piece (made of interfaced t-shirt fabric), with the collar and sleeves attached. The bows and glove-tops were made of the last of the cotton sateen I had left over my my Artbook Hikaru costume. The boots were an incredibly lucky find from ebay, I really love them because they're made from a stretchy material and just slip on ^^ I made the white tops, which are a combo of painted foamies and felt and are held on with a little elastic in the back. The ordango shields are made from large covered buttons and white piping. The feather clips are feathers that I cut down and shaped, glued into pearl beads, and attached to tiny hair combs. The earrings (which you really can't see in photos :) are made of gold moon and star buttons, pearls, and a TON of super glue. The choker is just a bit of ribbon with another moon button glued to it. The tiara was ordered from moonprism.com, because I really liked the look of the metal tiaras but I had no idea how to make my own ^^;
- Personal Thoughts:
- My childhood! XD I've wanted to make some sort of Sailor Moon cosplay for a long, long time (not counting the closet cosplay I did last summer), so I'm really happy that it finally happened! I'm really pleased with the results, and it was so much fun to wear!
