About this Prop
- Construction Details:
-
I've been on an InuYasha kick lately while preparing for Anime Boston, and recalled these plans I'd had years ago to make a Shikon no Tama (see Personal Thoughts). I grabbed the ball and necklace and rummaged around for an old dangle earring I didn't care about dismembering, took the charm off said earring, and stuck the wire into the ball, did a little twisting with my needle nosed pliers and TA DA! I still need to stick some hot glue on it to make sure it stays, but seriously WTF? Why did I not do this sooner? It took me literally five minutes at 1:15 in the morning.
- Personal Thoughts:
- I've literally had this prop planned for YEARS. I Can't remember when, but years ago, maybe as far back as high school, I noticed how much my favorite pink bouncy ball looked like the shikon no tama, and shortly thereafter realized I had a necklace that kind of looks like the one Kagome puts the calcified shards on (as opposed to the necklace Kikyo's full jewel was on). I immediately decided I needed to get some sort of screw into the rubber ball so I could attach it to the necklace, but I never bothered to look around hard enough for one. Until tonight! Anywho, more pics later when I retouch my Kagome costume. For now, enjoy the craptacular shot from my blackberry. It's better than nothing, I guess.
