Construction Details:

Fishbone twill was used the make the dress. The white and blue I already had, but the red was custom dyed from white to red. I used Rit liquid dye in Scarlet and Wine. Took three dye runs to get it that color.

The dress pattern was the same one that I used to make my Chinese Usagi Dress. I made the dress out of muslin, tailored it to my shape, and then drew out the sections in the front. I then cut it up and used the muslin as my pattern. The gold parts are vinyl that made was into bias tape and sewed down. I know they are suppose to be zippers but I thought that idea was stupid and would translate horribly so I opted for the gold vinyl instead.

The boots are made out of stretch velvet and are just covers over a pair of heels. I think I need to make them tighter since they don't like to stay up. Again gold bits are vinyl. Gloves are also made of black stretch velvet. I must say I'm getting pretty quick at making gloves now. lol

Heart charms are plastic heart keepsakes that were spray painted on the inside. They are then attached with large jump rings. Earrings are plastic heart gems painted gold. Wig is from Epic Cosplay and is the Dark Red color. LOVELY AMAZING WIG. It's super soft, thick, doesn't tangle too bad, heat resistant, and razors nicely. Highly recommended.

Personal Thoughts:

I'm a Kiddy Grade sap, and it has become almost a tradition to make one new Eclair outfit each year. This was neither planned or intentional to have this 'tradition.' Anyways, I had all the fabric for this laying around so I only had to buy the wig and some red dye. Yea cheap! I made this for going shooting in the snow, but I think another shoot is needed that isn't snow...
