Construction Details:

The jumper straps and skirt portion of the costume was patterned by me, my first time draping/patterning from scratch! I used a microfiber polyester twill for the jumper, and a cotton-poly blend for the blouse. I modified a very basic pattern for the shirt, patterning out the collar myself. It was also my first time doing actual pleats, and they ended up being much easier than I thought they would be! The wig is from my other Asuka costume, and the socks were purchased online, with a red stripe painted on by me. The shoes were ones I've had lying around forever, and were extremely comfortable.

Personal Thoughts:

I was sitting around with some friends, and we were discussing a group cosplay for AnimeBoston and kept coming back to EVA! We all decided that the school uniforms would be good, and I of course was in charge of making the uniforms for Rei and Asuka, mostly to make sure that they matched. It was wonderful to be able to do a cosplay with Redustrial (Rei), DarkVyse88 (Shinji), Maxieyi/Marz (Karou), and Renzokuken (Misato), and I hope to wear these again with them soon!
